Bryan visits The Dirt Track at Charlotte for World Finals
Bryan Bernheisel made the trek to The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) on Wednesday afternoon as the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series World Finals kicked off. (Zach Yost photos)
In a stout field of 70 Late Models, Bernheisel timed in 23rd-fastest in his group before going eighth-to-sixth in his heat. Needing to place second or better in his B-Main to make the opening night feature, Bryan logged a sixth-place outing.
For another $15,000-to-win preliminary on Thursday, Bryan’s sixth-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main for another shot at the A-Main. Starting on the third row, Bernheisel wheeled up to fourth on the initial drop of the green flag and was challenging for third on the high side but was collected in a tangle as another car slid up the track.
With too much damage to continue, Bernheisel was a scratch from the remainder of the weekend.
