Bryan Bernheisel begins ULMS Southern pursuit at Port Royal

With Mother Nature wiping out the opener on Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway (Mechanicsburg, Pa.), Bryan Bernheisel followed the Zimmer’s United Late Model Southern Series (ULMS) to Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) on Saturday for the doubleheader. Drawing 47 cars, Bryan timed in fourth fastest in his qualifying group before placing fourth in his heat. With $3,000 on the line in the feature, Bernheisel faded seven spots in the 30-lapper to finish 21st.

On Sunday afternoon, Bernheisel topped the speed charts in time trials before picking up an eight-lap heat race victory. Starting the $4,000-to-win A-Main in eighth, Bryan slipped back to a 17th-place outing in the 35-lap affair. (Rick Neff photo)
